*****A LETTER FROM A FELLOW RESCUER AND FRIEND*****
Let me begin by saying that Tedi, like many others of us in animal rescue, is an avid animal lover and she has a huge heart when it comes to animals that have been mistreated, neglected, or left to die in one of our countries horrible animal control facilities.
She has worked with me and others tirelessly to save many dogs that were in their last minutes of life awaiting either a gas chamber, a heartstick, or simply dying in a cage at a so-called shelter from human ignorance.
There have been bumps in the road along the way. I have rescued for nearly 30 years now and its all too common that something goes wrong with the coordination of the effort. Particularly when rescuing from a distance, its not uncommon to have the nearby boarding facilities filled up or perhaps the vet cannot take the animal in for spay/neuter until later in the week. In these circumstances, its very hard to find someone local to the shelter to physically pull the dog out in time and perhaps foster the dog in their home until it all falls into place.
I have worked with some of the same places that Tedi has and I have experienced many difficulties because its not just a matter of making a phone call. The animal must then be taken to a vet for spay or neuterm receive their shots, be placed in boarding or foster and then transported to the rescue arranged. Sometimes the vet won;t work with you on payment or boarding won’t, or the transporters want to charge money also.
This Cheri F. and her new friends Deborah VB, and Ronni Connelly from HART in TN have done nothing but fabricate lies and exagerate every effort that Tedi has made all because of a “personal” loan that Cheri offered Tedi a couple of years ago. (Also the fact that Cheri was not added as a board member on ARO, INC) It was understood that the money was for “personal” reasons, not rescue. When Cheri asked for the money back well in advance of the agreed upon time and Tedi couldn’t burp up the money at a moments notice, this is when this horrible vendetta began.
Cheri has done nothing but make it her mission to discredit Tedi at every oportunity since then. She has cyberbullied, harassed, provoked, slandered and libeled her, not to mention the stalking and even death threats she has inflicted on Tedi and her family. Cheri will stop at nothing to get revenge.
Now, I know Tedi has made mistakes, but her mistakes have been nothing more than being guilty of having a big heart and having too many animals. This is her ONLY crime. Tedi has not retaliated but rather just continued to love and care for the animals while being imprisoned in her own home due to the harassment she’s had to endure since Cheri and her followers began the tirade.
In closing, I know Tedi has committed no criminal acts. She may have violated some ordinances by having too many animals at one time, but that isn’t “criminal”. She loves each and every one of the animals and strives to find perfect homes for them. To the best of my knowledge, that is not against the law.
I pray for both Tedi and the innocent animals that she saved from death that all the injustices that were inflicted on her (rather than she inflicted on others) are resolved and that criminal charges of slander, libel, and cyber bullying are brought against all these women who are truly guilty of crimes. Tedi should be vindicated and her animals returned to her as well as her personal belongings.
I am under the impression that Ex Detective Charles May has it in for Tedi also. I have never witnessed a detective taking heresay from an out of state gossiper and acting on it and corresponding through social networks like facebook or Myspace where the cyber-bullying originated. I laugh at the detective (ex) asking on Facebook for information that might bolster Tedi’s accusers. They have absolutely nothing to offer, because these are false accusations made by one woman who has gathered followers by telling tall tales.

*****ANOTHER CHARACTER REFERENCE – ONE OF MANY*****
I have been a good friend of the Spicer’s for many years now.
I’m aware of the fact that their personal and rescue dogs have been taken from them by animal control and an overzealous officer. This cop has taken the word of a girl on FaceBook who has no knowledge of the family and the dogs at all. In fact, none of them live in the same state.
Why would anyone break down someones door because someone on the internet said that they were doing things they have NO PROOF of? The accusations that have been made could not be farther from the truth.
I am someone who know the facts and the family as I am a longtime friend.
The Spicers love animals and would never do anything to hurt one. They have devoted themselves to helping the animals that they can and trying to get help for the ones they cannot personally help.
I have spoken to them many times over the last week, not to mention going to their house, and I can see the devastation this has caused them. I can also see how lonely they are without their pets.
They are deeply concerned as to the well-being of the animals at animal control, this is their focus now. To get the dogs out and home.
In knowing them and this unfair situation, it would be a disservice to keep them apart and their pets apart.
Please return these animals to them and the only home they have ever known.

*****ANOTHER LETTER ON MY BEHALF*****
I am aware & have been for quite some time, but have not said anything since it has not really involved me, that there have been nasty statements made about Tedi Spicer and the work she does with animals. I am usually one who does not get into others business, however, when threats are made and my name is involved or attached to organizations I am affiliated with, it becomes an issue.
I have known Tedi for years and while there may be personal issues between you and her or other individuals and her, the work she does with animals has ALWAYS been loving, genuine, ethical, legal, etc.
Ive read what people have stated and am so incredibly blown away that other animal lovers and others who have rescue org’s would make these accusations without even properly researching. In addition, I noticed a deplorable facebook page created solely dedicated to “TediSpicer EffedMe”. I could no believe people who claim they are animal lovers would waste their time and energy with something like this. I was literally embarrassed for everyone who became a “fan” and who were making comments on that page without ANY evidence to base their accusations or remarks. How cruel, nasty, cold hearted and inaccurate. Further, the notes and statements on this page were remarks about animal rescue that I am involved in with Tedi. She & I work together often as I had stated. Some who do rescue choose to advertise on FB and others choose not to. I am one who chooses not to & a perfect example is this.
Normally I am not one who feels the need to defend or prove anything but because so many choose to speak out of their asses, I live about 30 minutes away from Tedi and have not only been to her house numerous times but have been involved in placements, home visits, community outreach at local schools and humane societies which involved myself, Tedi, her son, Tedi’s father (who for some reason some people are talking shit about and I am not sure why because this man is an amazing person who is an animal lover.)
My name is attached to all these rescue org’s being bashed and whatever selfish reasons people are doing this for, I honestly don’t care. It is juvenile, inconsiderate, INNACURATE, and completely against all those who ‘claim’ they fight for animals. This isn’t high school. We are adults. Animals are being helped NOT HURT. Its time to move on.
Those who are stating they are going to sue Tedi, charge her, who are threatening her etc, need to stop. What a waste of energy. In addition I have researched the profiles of those who have been threatening her and have noticed that most do not even live in the state of IL and are not aware of the laws here.
Tedi & I work closely with attorneys here in IL who are up to date on animal law and who are also aware of these threats being made to Tedi and to our rescue org’s. I have screen captured, copied, printed and forwarded all the emails sent to Tedi, the fake “TediSpicer” page created, all the notes created to my brother who is and attorney in the states of IL and Florida. I think what this woman is doing is incredibly selfish and wrong.
Whatever personal issues you have with Tedi please do not involve the rescue work I do with her. I also hope people choose to have a brain of their own and stop following individuals who don’t have any evidence to back up their ‘claim’ that Tedi is this horrible crack head who abuses animals & is profiting off animals which is probably the most assinine comment I have heard in awhile.
